QuickBooks Connect Recap, CNAP & Intuit Trainer Writer Network

November was a month of celebration, vacation, thanksgiving, and behind-the-scenes changes to the GBC website. Here is a recap of what happened.

QuickBooks Connect Conference 2019

QuickBooks Connect Conference was all about owning the future and implementing actionable strategies to help clients maximize their profit with fewer roadblocks and more streamlined workflows.

I learned some new tips to improve my firm’s social media marketing and spent some time with bill management app vendors to streamline the accounts payable process for my clients.

My favorite quote from the event was from Jade Simmons “if you want to move like a Maverick, never call yourself a minority.” In other words, stop letting people limit your purpose to their imaginary box. Your purpose is bigger than what you do and it has more impact when you see the joy in others.

I got to spend some time reconnecting with my out-of-state friends and colleagues in the industry and took time to re-energize and discuss plans for 2020.

Ufuoma Ogaga - Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional

In the midst of absorbing so much content at QuickBooks Connect, I was also studying for the CNAP exam. I am happy to say I am officially a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional. CNAP is a nationally-recognized designation that certifies the expertise and commitment of nonprofit financial managers and accounting professionals.

The program teaches best practices on critical nonprofit skills and covers topics such as financial reporting, internal controls, budget development, governance, and Form 990. The certification is developed by the National Association of Nonprofit Accountants and Consultants, (NPAC), a division of The Alliance of Professional Associations (APA).

Ufuoma Ogaga - Member of the Intuit Global Trainer/Writer Network

In addition to getting my CNAP, I also found out that I was selected to be a member of the Intuit Trainer/Writer Network. The Intuit Trainer/Writer Network (TWN) is an elite group of Advanced Certified QuickBook Online ProAdvisors that are specially chosen because of their ability to teach, speak and/or write about QuickBooks Online, Cloud Practices, and Apps to thousands of accountants and bookkeepers around the global. There are less than 200 members worldwide so I am grateful and honored to be a part of the elite team.
